Discover Argentario

Monte Argentario is more than diving

Monte Argentario… is a wonderful place in the Maremma area, southern Tuscany. Maremma is full of historic and artistic places. You can find here Roman ruins, well preserved castles and medieval villages, contemporary arts sites. Monte Argentario and its countryside also offers well known vineyard and a big bunch of culinary highlights.

Monte Argentario peninsula is surrounded by the sea; hills are up to 600 meters and the panoramic street provide breathtaking views. You can walk across the Mediterranean bush to rich ancient towers overlooking the sea, enjoying great sunset; or you can reach the more remotely cliffs to swim in solitude. 7- and 8-kilometers long sand beaches (Feniglia and Giannella) are nearby.

If you prefer watersport, cycling and running or even golf, you will find the right place around.

With a few minutes by car you can reach Orbetello with its monumental Etruscan walls, or the Roman ruins of Ansedonia, or the charming Capalbio. You can also visit WWF protected areas facing the Orbetello lagoon, or ride a horse in the Uccellina park.

Art lovers and children can find great satisfaction in visiting the Tarot Garden designed by Niki de Saint Phalle. Not so far there are also gardens designed by Paul Fuchs and Daniel Spoerri.

A daily trip to the tuff villages of Pitigliano, Sorano and Sovana is a must… possibly with a relaxing stop in the natural hot spring of Saturnia.
